Software

In the beginning

In the late seventies (!!!!), I went to a parents meeting at the K-6 public school my first child attended. Part of the session was presentations by the students of the new Apple computers and the educational software they could use. I asked one of the students to show me some examples … and setting aside how impressed I was with the radical new technology of computers in the classroom (or library), I randomly chose an offering from the catalog. Next thing I see is a screenful of instructions. I asked how pre-readers were supposed to know how to use the learning opportunity.
